As a black man in America I never felt like I could truly be ME.

I never feel safe because people don't feel safe around me.

And where I grew up nothing is safe. I just want to make it back home everyday. 

So I never leave the house without my armor:

Nice pair of shoes, nice shirt, fresh hat, maybe a bowtie...

Sometimes I forget who I am underneath it all.
