Lazarus Simmons

Lazarus Simmons was born in Missouri, but has bounced around all over the United States and London. He would describe himself as a super-nerd and dreams of being Blue Marvel in the MCU – or any character when the West Wing eventually reboots.
He has been in theater since the age of six when he was in Fairy Tale Remix in elementary school. He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Dramatic Art. While there he competed in collegiate level fencing. Lazarus Simmons moved on to attend Rutgers University, achieving an MFA in Acting. Recently he, with some fellow alums, founded the theater company Brick Factory based in Brooklyn, NY. He was also very proud to serve on the Artistic Council at Rethink Theater in New Brunswick, NJ. When not at work at Rutgers Theater Department he devotes time to acting, Thinkery and Verse, coLABArts, writing, creating, and his Playstation 5.
Without a doubt, his driving force in life is the love of creating art with his tribe. He attributes any good qualities of his character to the exemplary child rearing skills of his father. Some of his favorite projects have been: The Winter’s Tale, The Shipment, The Nether, The Typographer’s Dream, Recall, Dead End, and Brabo.
